We set our bags out last night and (hopefully!) won’t see them again until Champaign. So easy!

Alaska playgrounds = sea-themed. Very different from Illinois!

We loved Creek Street—super charming and full of history. It used to be a red-light district, but it’s also a cool example of women-owned businesses back in the day.

Wrapped up our last seminar on group cruising with Carnival. If you’ve got a crew that wants to cruise, I’ve got you!

We were supposed to stop in Victoria, but weather had other plans—straight to Seattle we went.

Feeling so grateful for this trip… but ready to get home to our boy!

What. A. Day.

We took a ferry from Skagway over to Haines this morning and hopped into a rubber raft (yes, a rubber raft) to float down the chilly—but stunning—Chilkat River. The Takshunuk Mountains were giving major postcard vibes.

It was FREEZING, but totally worth it—we spotted around 10 bald eagles and several nests along the way. Nature really showed off for us today.

After we made it back to Skagway, we warmed up with a little shopping and a tasty stop at Skagway Brewing Co. Now we’re back on the ship, bundled up and ready for tomorrow’s adventures… hoping for more wildlife and a close-up look at Mendenhall Glacier!

Cruising through Tracy Arm Fjord today and WOW — absolutely gorgeous but sooo cold! ❄️
We spotted some whale spouts earlier in the day 🐋, but no wildlife sightings during our sail to the glacier. Still, the views were unreal!

Tomorrow: Skagway and an eagle preserve float & scenic cruise! 🦅⛴️ Fingers crossed for more wildlife sightings… just not looking forward to freezing again!

We started with our own little tasting tour—then joined a chef-led food walk through Pike Place Market. Between the cheese, chowder, pizza, and truffles… I’m still full and still dreaming about it.

We DID it — we flew first class to Seattle!
And let me tell you… once you’ve had legroom, you can’t go back.
We don’t know who we thought we were, sipping drinks before takeoff and pretending we understood the seat controls.
Was it worth it? Absolutely.
Are we now slightly ruined for regular flying? Also, yes.
10/10 would recommend — especially if your knees, back, and snack needs are over the age of 30.

PLUS, we saw Mt Rainier from 30,000 feet! We could see that from economy but we didn't have to!

Last night, I made my official podcast debut… in a five-minute enrichment program assignment 🎙️

My friend’s daughter interviewed me about my life as a travel agent, and let me tell you—she absolutely crushed it. She had her questions ready, her podcast voice on point, and I did my best to drop some travel wisdom in under a minute and a half.

Not usually one to brag, but… I’m kinda blown away and had to share!

My trainer pulled together some progress receipts, and y’all—I am getting stronger!

Two years ago, I cautiously dipped my toe into working out by doing HIIT classes a couple days a week. My main motivation? J was only getting heavier to carry around, and I needed the strength to keep up! Over time, I added more days, joined a challenge that included two personal training sessions a week… and of course I signed up for more after. Turns out—I really enjoy lifting weights. (Well played, gym marketing team.)

My first personal training session was on 5/15/24, and the picture attached shows where I’m at now. I’ve never been a “weightlifting person” and cardio was always hit or miss. But I’ve stuck with it—and I’m seriously so proud. I feel stronger, happier, and my anxiety is way lower.

So here’s my little proud moment: check out this video of me leg pressing SIX plates on each side (each plate is 45 lbs) + the 118-lb machine… that’s 658 pounds total!

Just had to share this win—thanks for cheering me on!
